The Import Folder Screen is used for Automated Import Set-up.  It allows for the creation of folders for each database to indicate where files will be dropped-off, what kind of import to run (faculty, student, course), the role (course enrollments only), the automation method (batch for file drops), and an active flag which will push those data files into the Course Evaluations system. 


IMPORTANT NOTES: 

  • It's important that a school's IT Department be involved in this set-up to ensure accuracy and functioning of the automation of imports. 
  • If a school has multiple databases these folder settings need to be set up in each one.


Course Evaluations facilitates folder configuration via the Imports menu-> Import Folders screen. This screen enables the administrator to associate each folder to a Course Evaluations database, import type, and Course Evaluations role (for enrollment imports only). Each folder that is setup can be made active by the CE Administrator by checking the Active box in the detail screen. The Automated Import process will validate each folder before any imports are attempted. The valid indicator will be checked once the Etalus Service verifies the existence of the folder. This validation process will take effect regardless of whether or not the entry has been activated. Once the folder has been validated and activated the Etalus Service will begin to look for files that show up in the folder.
