The Participant Response export provides a file that contains data on all of the survey completers and non-completers. The export includes an indicator for who has completed, and the submit date/submit time.

The Participant Response Extract allows the Course Evaluations Manager to extract the report on set schedule at off peak times to a specific folder location.

  • Select the surveys, by status to include in the extract.
  • Select the year(s) of the survey(s) to include in the extract.
  • Select the period(s) of the survey(s) to include in the extract.
  • Enter the location of the extract folder. The folder location can be the default web location where files can be downloaded from or a server/network location that is not accessible from this page.
    • The folder must be visible to the eTalus service.
  • Select the day(s) to run the extract.
  • Select the time(s) to run the extract.  Keep in mind that large extracts will affect system performance overall including the Course Evaluations website. It is recommended to run the extract at off-peak hours.
  • Select the Delimiters for the column and text.Column delimiters are the column separators for CSV files. By default, Course Evaluations will use a comma (,) to separate columns in text extracts. They include:
    • Comma
    • Tab
    • Pipe
    • Carat
  • Text delimiters are the characters used to surround text values. By default, Course Evaluations will use a double-quote. This field delimiter is required to handle the case where the column delimiter is included within the text. e.g. full name "Doe, John". They include:
    • Double-Quote
    • Single-Quote
    • Carat
    • Underscore
    • Tilda
  • Check the box to run the extract immediately on 'Save.'
  • Click 'Save.'
  • The time of the last extract will appear.  If the default extract folder is chosen a list of files will appear under Extract Files.
